Optix, a premier provider of high-performance networking solutions has expanded to provide wireless internet services to rural communities.

Inkom, ID–

Optix, delivers fast, reliable internet for apartment communities, hospitals, and schools.  Optix has announced the expansion of its high-speed network to include wireless internet services designed to meet the growing connectivity needs of rural communities.  Through this new service, the internet will be available to the residents of Inkom.  Customers can choose from four speed packages and can add on Direct Protect+ to provide advanced network security while online.

Originally founded in Rexburg, Idaho, Optix has evolved from managing specialized wireless networks for apartment communities into a comprehensive connectivity partner.  Optix is powered by a robust fiber backbone from its parent company, Direct Communications- a locally owned fiber internet family business serving Idaho since 1954–Optix combines decades of infrastructure expertise with cutting-edge wireless technology.

“Our mission has always been to deliver fast, reliable internet where it is needed most,” stated Tim May, President of Optix.  “Optix allows us to provide the same reliable high speed internet as Direct Communications, but allows us to reach more customers in high density areas like MDU’s.  We are now able to offer wireless internet which will expand our services to cover rural areas where fiber is not available.  We are committed to keeping our rural communities connected.”

Optix specializes in two primary pillars of connectivity:

  • Rural Wireless Internet: Providing high-speed, low-latency, and affordable access to areas where traditional fiber broadband has not yet reached.
  • Custom WiFi Networks: Engineered for high-density and complex environments, including multi-dwelling facilities (MDUs), event centers, commercial and government buildings, and schools.

As businesses and residential areas in the region continue to scale, Optix’s solutions are designed to be “Connectivity That Scales With You,” ensuring that users experience the stability and capacity required for modern digital demands.
